Information about the functional areas

Accreditation

Without your pass, no one gets on the ice! By issuing event credentials, you’re paving the way for all participants and staff from the stars in the spotlight to the unsung heroes behind the scenes. You’ll help with data entry, taking passport photos, and producing ID cards and if you can step in a few days before the opening faceoff, you’ve come to the right place. Important! Accreditation begins even before the official start of the tournament.

Arena Management

Do you want to be part of the action where everything comes together and the stage is set for every game? In Arena Management, you’ll ensure that everything runs smoothly inside the arena: As a steward, you’ll help visitors find their way around and ensure a safe environment; during setup and takedown, you’ll lend a hand and get the arena ready; and as part of the Team Service team, you’ll be a reliable point of contact for the teams.

Events & Services

Want to be right in the thick of the IIHF WM 2027™ instead of just watching from the sidelines? In the Events & Services department, you’ll be the face of the tournament: As the first point of contact, you’ll answer questions from fans and guests, coordinate our volunteer team behind the scenes, or assist VIPs and partners at the reception. Join the team that makes every game an unforgettable experience on and off the ice!

Driver

Would you like to help guide our officials, VIPs, referees, and athletes safely through the streets of our host cities? Whether you know the city like the back of your hand or just want to join our transportation team, we’d love to have you. Are you passionate about driving, and does this sound like your kind of thing? We think so, too!

IT Services

In IT Services, you will be responsible for IT services in the media area as well as throughout the entire venue. You’ll support the IT team, liaise with our IT vendors, and ensure that all technical systems—from printers to Wi-Fi—run smoothly. Please note that this role requires very strong IT skills.

Marketing

Do you want to help shape the IIHF WM 2027™ right where the excitement happens? In the marketing department, you’ll make the tournament shine: You’ll assist with ticketing and ensure fans get into the stadium smoothly, bring the fan zone’s entertainment program to life, help organize the ceremonies surrounding the games, and, as part of the mascot team, get the stands cheering. Become part of the team that turns the World Championship into an unforgettable experience here, a game becomes a celebration!

Media Operations

The flashbulbs are waiting for you! At the IIHF WM 2027™, you’ll be right in the thick of things as journalists from around the world cover the tournament. If you’re interested in experiencing firsthand how a world-class sporting event is covered by the media and in playing an important role yourself—you’ve come to the right place.

Medical Operations

This area is one of the more low-key, yet at the same time most exciting, fields of work. As anti-doping chaperones, you will assist the medical team in conducting doping tests. Due to the testing procedure, only men are being sought for this role.

Runner

No two days are alike, and that’s exactly what makes you special! As Super Volunteers, you’re the ace up the sleeve of the IIHF WM 2027™. While other volunteers have their assigned areas, you’re on hand wherever there’s a crisis. Whether it’s a last-minute absence, a particularly large crowd, or spontaneous special assignments you step in, roll up your sleeves, and always keep everything under control. If you’re flexible, can keep a cool head in stressful situations, and are eager to experience the entire tournament from a wide variety of perspectives, you’ve come to the right place.
