Information about the functional areas

Accreditation

This is all about creating and issuing accreditations. Every participant receives an accreditation so that he/she can identify him/herself accordingly and gain access to the various (backstage) areas. The accreditations are printed on site and issued to the respective persons. Accreditation will be staffed by a member of the organizing team, but help is needed especially in the initial phase of the event. If you already have some previous experience with databases, this is the right place for you.

Ball kids

As a ball kid, you are an important part of the event! As a ball kid, you take an active part in the tournament and ensure that the game runs smoothly. Then be there and experience the special stadium atmosphere live on the pitch! There is a charge for being a run-in child. The price for this unique experience is €40 per child/day.

Event Management

An event only becomes a success with a well-functioning event team. As a volunteer in event management, you will support the DHB event managers with the daily tasks that arise during the tournament. If you are already available beforehand, please let us know!

Cloakroom/Information/Admission

You are the first point of contact for guests when they enter the stadium grounds - and therefore the figurehead of the event! You welcome every spectator with a smile, take luggage for safekeeping, distribute stamps for re-entry, hand out small giveaways from our partners (e.g. clapping cards) and are happy to help with any questions. You will of course be supported in this area by a DHB employee.

Guest Management

As a steward for the spectator area, it is your responsibility to ensure that visitors have a pleasant experience at the event.

Kids Village

In the Kids Village, our younger guests and the national players of tomorrow will get their money's worth - cool games about skill and speed as well as great craft activities are waiting to be discovered. Our air field hockey field also offers the opportunity to try out the ball and stick for yourself and really give it a go with other players.

Logistics

The "Logistics" area includes, among other things, setting up and dismantling the tournament venue. We need your helping hands to transform the stadium into a great competition venue and to ensure a professional appearance in front of and behind the scenes!

Medical

The "Medical" area deals with all medical care during the tournament - including doping controls. The Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) tests athletes at every national squad tournament. They need helpers to look after the selected athletes before and after the test and bring them back to their team. The assignments as so-called "anti-doping chaperones" take place spontaneously and only on a few days during the tournament. You can therefore select this area as your preferred area, but you will also be scheduled in a larger work area.

Media

In the "Media" area, we are looking for volunteers to look after the press representatives. This can be done at a help desk in the media area, where press representatives can get all the information they need directly. For example, they can ask about line-ups before the game or the result of a match. There will be a good infrastructure on site so that online services will work without any problems. If you have a good overview and are well versed in technical matters, this is the right place for you.

Pitch Management

In the area of pitch management, we need helpers who can lend a hand spontaneously. This involves everything that happens directly on and around the field hockey pitch. This could be maintaining the dressing rooms, looking after the players' benches or managing the playing equipment. If you see your place here, you will also be in demand before the start of the tournament, as training games, training sessions and the preparation of the venue take place on the pitch. This area is the right one for you if you know your way around field hockey and are familiar with the rules. rules and regulations.

Shuttle Service

As a volunteer in the "Shuttle" area, you are primarily responsible for transporting the teams and officials. This includes, for example, airport transfers, shuttles to the stadium and to training sessions. We will of course provide you with a vehicle. You should be at least 25 years old, ideally know your way around the city and have had your driver's license for a few years.

Team Liaison Management

Volunteers in the "Team Liaison Management (TLM)" department are the team attachés who act as the link between the German Hockey Federation and the respective national team. Their tasks consist of being available all day from the teams' arrival to their departure, providing information on meal, training and transfer times, assisting with the organization of transfers and ensuring that the team is well looked after. A good knowledge of written and spoken English is a prerequisite for this area. It is also helpful if you speak another language spoken by a competing nation

VIP/Hospitality

In the "VIP/Hospitality" area, everything revolves around the physical well-being of employees, volunteers and representatives. Every volunteer shift begins and ends in the volunteer tent. There, all volunteers receive all the necessary information, food and drink, as well as a comfortable place to take a break. Hospitality volunteers make sure that all the common rooms are clean and inviting, always have an open ear for any helping hand and also provide the volunteers with the necessary information about their assignment or the further course of their volunteering. True organizational talents are therefore in the right place here

Volunteer Management

We understand the term "Volunteer Management" to mean working in a leading volunteer position. Anyone who can imagine taking over the management of one of the areas mentioned is welcome to contact us in this area. It is therefore necessary to volunteer a while before the tournament. You will need to create schedules via eventvolunteers.de, contact the helpers in your volunteer pool, consult with the organizing team, etc. Although this assignment involves a little more effort, it also offers a special kind of experience. The DHB volunteer family is happy to already be so large and to be growing by more volunteers. You can play an active role in shaping this process and, above all, you will be involved in the ongoing planning process for the event.
